Our New Year’s Eve 2024 Service (December 31, 2024)

Please join us for this service on New Year’s Eve 2024, as we say farewell to the old year and welcome the new!

Christmas Fellowship Dinner 2024 (December 22, 2024)

was served for those who attended the service in person! It was served by the Women’s Service Council.

Your Donations to the 2024 CROP Hunger Walk! (December 1, 2024)

Because of your donations, First Baptist Church raised $5,106.14 for the 2024 Winston-Salem/Forsyth County CROP Hunger Walk held last October!

Donations will be distributed to Church World Service, Crisis Control Ministry, and Sunnyside Ministry! The Winston-Salem Community raised $95,317.03 for these partner agencies, and we were a Top Ten contributor to this effort!

We thank you for blessing others toward ending hunger locally and globally!

“The Hanging of the Greens” Service (November 24, 2024)

We will celebrate “The Hanging of the Greens” at First Baptist Church on Sunday, November 24! This special service will be held immediately following our Morning Worship Service.

This is a service where we will adorn the Sanctuary with Advent and Christmas decorations, accompanied by special readings and music.

Operation InAsMuch Fall 2024 Event (November 16, 2024)

Operation InAsMuch returned for returned to First Baptist for its autumn outreach event with giveaways, food, the Annie Alexander Health Fair, and fellowship.

Youth Chuch on Sunday, November 10, 2024

Youth Church was held this week with the lesson “Hope in Jesus.” Attendees also participated in youth Christmas tabling activities in the Hedgley Fellowship Hall and collected donations for the 2024 Penny Campaign for Samaritan Ministries.

Trunk Or Treat 2024 (October 30, 2024)

The Youth and Children’s Ministry held Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 30, bringing children and their families to First Baptist for an evening of fun!

Our 2024 Fall Revival Speakers! (October 12, 2024)

We are pleased to announce our guest speakers for this year’s Fall Revival!

Rev. Dr. William S. Epps, Senior Pastor of Second Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California, will be our speaker on Monday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Rev. William Steven Allen, Sr., Interim Pastor of First Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, will join us on Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Dr. Bill Leonard Inducted into Collegium of Scholars at Morehouse College (April 14, 2024)

Our own Dr. Bill Leonard was inducted into the 38th Martin Luther King, Jr. College of Ministers and Laity’s Collegium of Scholars at Morehouse College on Thursday, April 11! The College of Ministers and Laity, according its webpage, “is unique in its juxtaposition of servanthood, scholarship, and leadership as requirements for ministry – whether that ministry is performed through formal religion or any other endeavor.”

Cultural Heritage Sunday Dinner (February 25, 2024)

Yesterday (February 25), we celebrated Cultural Heritage Sunday during our Morning Worship Service to conclude Black History Month. A special dinner was held following the service with poetry from the Youth and Children’s Ministry and fellowship.
